Device Security

Secure your mobile devices and desktop computers.

Mobile Security Checklist

Resilience checklist

  • Full-disk encryption on (FileVault, BitLocker, Android/iOS default).
  • Automatic cloud backups enabled (iCloud/Google Drive/OneDrive).
  • Set updates to automatic for OS and browser.

If your device is lost/stolen

  1. Use Find My / Find My Device to lock and locate, then erase if unrecoverable. Don’t remove the phone from your Apple/Google account — that switches off its theft protection.
  2. Change passwords for email + banking first; revoke old sessions.
  3. Notify your carrier (SIM swap risk) and your bank if applicable.
